Snorkeling in Eilat
Eilat is the southern city of Israel, washed by the waters of the Gulf of Aqaba of the Red Sea. The resort is suitable for year-round recreation, as the temperature never drops below +20 ° C even in winter. The hottest month is July. The thermometer shows almost +40 ° C. Water in the winter months warms up to + 21-22 ° C, and in the summer to 24-25 ° C. Compared to other cities, the local climate is drier, the humidity is only 15-20%, so the heat is relatively easily tolerated.
Gulf of Aqaba
Active water entertainments are popular in Eilat, snorkeling is one of them. Colonies of corals grow almost near the shore, tightly adjacent to each other, so anyone can admire works of art from nature, armed with a mask and fins. More than 150 species of coral and about 400 species of fish, shellfish and crustaceans live in the Red Sea.
The dense coral forests that have become home to closed ecosystems owe their appearance to the geography of the region. The mountain range and the hot desert create conditions for the active evaporation of water, which is why the percentage of salt off the coast of Eilat is consistently high. This creates an ideal environment for the development of corals.
