Beaches in Sperlonga

Sperlonga is a miniature resort in the province of Latina. It got its name thanks to a string of caves formed by nature on a rocky shore. A little more than 3,000 residents constantly live in the town, in the summer months the number of people increases several times due to the influx of tourists. They come to sunbathe on the luxurious golden beaches, swim in the warm Tyrrhenian Sea and enjoy the enchanting scenery. Beauty in the city is not inferior to natural beauty. Sperlonga architecture is so similar to the Mediterranean. White buildings shine against a piercing blue sky, narrow streets invite for long walks along old houses with thick shutters. Clay pots with vibrant colors complete the picture.

The resort has many hotels for every budget and interesting places for leisure.

HOW TO GET FROM ROME TO SPERLONG?
Car ride from rome

The distance between cities is almost 116 km. There are several ways to overcome it.

By car
Termini Station has car rental offices in the right wing. Prices are about the same. Renting a mid-range car, for example a Fiat brand with a diesel engine, will cost about 300 € per week. You will need international rights, sometimes you can do with ordinary Russian ones.

A liter of diesel costs about 1.3 €.

Take highway A towards Cassino. Either drive through the Strada Statale 7 Via Appia or the Strada Regionale 148 Pontina. On all routes there are paid sections. Traveling takes about 2 hours. See the step-by-step route here.

By train
You need to get to Termini train station via any metro line. There, buy a ticket for the Roma Termini – Fondi-Sperlonga train. It will cost from 6.9 € to 8.20 € depending on the class of train. View the schedule and purchase a ticket here. The road to Fondi will take from 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.

At the end station you should take a bus that will take you to the resort. Buses run at intervals of approximately 1 hour. Tickets cost 1 €. The road will take about 20 minutes. You can take a taxi, the price of the trip is within 20 €. Do not forget to bargain.

WEATHER IN SPERLONG
The weather on the coast is determined by the mild Mediterranean climate. The abundance of warm days allows you to open the holiday season in April. The weather is nice and warm until mid-October. Heat peaks in July and August. The thermometer bar crosses the +30 ° C mark. The coldest days are recorded in late January, when the temperature does not rise above +9 ° C.

BEACHES CERLONGI
Beaches in Sperlonga

The length of the resort beach is a little more than 6 km. This is the purest golden sand, the azure sea, comfortable descent into the water and picturesque landscapes. Sperlonga’s beaches are considered the most beautiful in the province of Latina and regularly receive the Blue Flag Award for their environmental friendliness.

The city divides the coastline into 2 parts: eastern (stretches to a place called Lido di Fondi) and western (it rests on the grotto of Tiberius). All beaches are equipped with toilets, changing cabins, showers, equipment is maintained in perfect condition.

There are paid and free sites. Visiting a paid beach will cost 20-25 €. This price includes renting 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for the whole day. If you come in the afternoon, really agree on discounts. Then the same set of beach equipment will go for 8-10 €. On a free site, you can sunbathe on your towel or rent a deck chair with an umbrella. Each item will cost from 5 € to 9 €. Sports equipment available for rent: kayaks, surfboards, etc.

All beaches, regardless of their status, open at 8:30 and close at about 19:30. Each has bars and restaurants offering delicacies of European and local cuisine with an emphasis on seafood dishes.

Della fontana

This is one of the most visited beaches in Sperlonga. It is easily accessible from the city center; it is located right behind Piazza Fontana. Looking at the landscape, it seems that he came off the postcard. Bizarre cliffs, sea caves, ancient castle towers, lush Mediterranean vegetation and olive groves are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. There is a free plot.
